The Channel Islands consist of the following four main islands:

Alderney is the northern most island in the group. Approximately 8 sq km (3 sq miles) in size, most of the population live in the main settlement of St Anne's.

Guernsey is the most westerly of the Channel Islands, the second largest in size with an area of about 63.5 sq km (24.5 sq miles) and administrative control of Sark and Alderney.

Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands with an area of about 117 sq km (45 sq mi) and is located to the far southeast of the group, near the coast of Normandy, France.

Just east of Guernsey, the Sark is the smallest of the four main islands with a land area of 5 sq km (2 sq miles), and the smallest independent feudal state in Europe.
